Pickles and Petunia

Pickles was found by a river two years ago. Pickles is a fuzzy lop. His fur was matted and had to be shaved at the shelter. He was taken to the Bradshaw Animal Shelter and was adopted.

Several weeks ago, Pickles was found in a box outside of the same shelter in worse condition. His fur was matted, he had urine and feces stuck to his fur. He was sent to Petcare where his fur was shaved and his skin was treated. He was later neutered.

Pickles wasn’t alone in the box. A guinea pig was left with him. The Vet observed as did the shelter what a strong bond Pickles and Petunia have. When separated at the Vet’s office, both stopped eating. The decision was made to leave them together.

This is a first for us as we don’t rescue guinea pigs. But we didn’t have the heart to split these two up. Pickles has been through so much. He loves Petunia and she him. It’s an unconventional love like no other that we’ve seen before.

Pickles is a fuzzy lop and requires grooming every other day. We are looking for a forever, loving, indoor home with someone who has experience long fur rabbits and guinea pigs.

Please contact us at friendsofunwantedrabbits@gmail.com if your interested in providing a true forever home for these two.

Adopted 3/2/2019!!
