Petco Foundation makes us Hoppy !
Did you know Friends of Unwanted Rabbits has 12 rescued rabbits at the Folsom Petco? Many families visit these rabbits on a regular basis, getting to know their personalities and, if a qualified FUR volunteer is present, pet a Bunny!
Recently, Petco Foundation sent our volunteers FABULOUS sweatshirts and cellphone holders as a thank you. Having rabbits at Petco 24/7 enables FUR to rescue more rabbits from area shelters and find them loving, forever indoor homes. The Rabbit Room also helps to increase customer traffic at Petco. Our volunteers take every adopter on a shopping trip through Petco to help them pick out all the appropriate bunny supplies for their new family member. For example, we encourage the purchase of exercise pens as opposed to cages to allow rabbits more room.
We often meet customers who ask about specific rabbits after they’ve been adopted. One of the current customer favorites at the Petco Rabbit Room is Elvis, a rabbit with a ROCK STAR!!!
Emma is one of our volunteers who helps out at our Adoption Events with her parents. She is a GREAT help and well educated in rabbit care! Emma’s family adopted a rabbit named Oreo from us.
